Building things that last.

Stories are how people connect — how we remember, trust, and belong. They're how growing businesses explain who they are and why they exist.

And across all of it, I've learned that direct, honest communication is the only thing that lasts.

Stories deserve better.

Stories are how people connect — how we remember, trust, and belong. They're how growing businesses explain who they are and why they exist.

At some point, that changed.

I've lived what it feels like to perform for the algorithm — posting more often than you should, reshaping your message to fit whatever the platform favors this week, watching reach spike and disappear without explanation.

You do the work. You tell the story. And then the relationship — the attention, the access — belongs to someone else.

That's exhausting. And worse, it pulls you away from the people you're actually trying to reach.

Tinyspark exists as a correction to that dynamic. It's built around a simple idea: stories work best when they're shared directly with people who chose to hear from you — not filtered, ranked, or monetized by someone else.

A different premise.

Tinyspark isn't just a different kind of channel. It's built on a different premise.

You can't learn what works if you don't know who saw what. You can't improve your stories if the relationship belongs to someone else.

Tinyspark requires a direct, owned channel for a reason. When people choose to follow you, you know who they are. You can see how they respond. And you can let those real signals — not guesses or algorithmic abstractions — shape what you do next.

That's also why Tinyspark allows real actions inside stories. You shouldn't be punished for wanting to sell something, explain something, or invite someone to do something meaningful. Stories aren't ads — they're how relationships move forward.

Building your own channel isn't as easy as buying an ad. That's true. But email taught an entire generation of businesses that the return is worth it.

Tinyspark builds on that lesson — and goes further.

Instead of giant vanity lists filled with people who stopped opening years ago, Tinyspark is designed around followers who actually want to hear from you. Instead of text-heavy messages fighting inbox filters, it supports rich, video-first stories that people actually want to watch.

The result is a channel that doesn't just deliver stories — it gets better with every story you tell. You learn what resonates. Your audience stays active. And the return compounds over time.

Built by someone who's been in it.

I grew up around a family business that didn't make it. I've started companies that failed. I've helped others find their footing.

Years ago, my identical twin brother and I co-founded Digital Scientists, a product innovation studio. Alongside our partners, we worked with growing businesses across retail, healthcare, SaaS, and media — not just advising them, but building alongside them. Some of those early clients are still out there today.

Later, at Mailchimp, I saw firsthand how powerful growing businesses can be when the tools actually respect how they work. And at Matterport, I spent years working closely with professionals like real estate agents — people whose success depends on clear, human communication, not marketing theater.

Across all of that, the lesson stayed the same.

The advice I keep coming back to.

The best advice I've ever given — and the advice I still trust most — didn't come from a framework or a playbook. It came from watching what actually worked.

Put your heart into it.

Stories only work when they're real. People can tell when you care — and when you don't.

Putting your heart into it means creating an emotional connection between the storyteller and the people on the other side of the screen. It means being human, not just being polished. Present, not performative.

That idea is literally baked into Tinyspark. The name comes from the belief that the smallest, most human moments — a story that resonates, a feeling that lands — are what create lasting relationships.

That's the tiny spark worth protecting.

Test and learn.

Caring isn't enough on its own. You also have to listen.

The fastest way to get better isn't guessing or polishing endlessly. It's paying attention to how people actually respond — what they watch, what they skip, what they come back for — and letting that shape what you do next.

Tinyspark is built to support that learning loop. Not with jargon or dashboards for their own sake, but with clear signals that help you understand what's landing and what's not.

Why now.

For most of the last decade, the tools available to growing businesses pushed them in the same direction: publish more, optimize harder, perform for systems you don't control.

That wasn't because anyone wanted it that way. It was because the alternatives didn't really exist.

The devices are personal. The screens are expressive. The technology to deliver rich, direct stories — privately, at scale — is finally here. What's been missing is a channel built for that purpose, not adapted from something else.

Tinyspark exists because this is the first moment where a truly direct, story-first relationship between businesses and the people who follow them is not just possible — it's practical.

As your business grows, the relationship stays close.

Nearly 20 years. Still independent. Still building.

Tinyspark was born inside Digital Scientists, the product innovation studio my twin brother Bob and I co-founded in 2007. From a small office in Atlanta, we spent years designing and building technology that helps people work, shop, and communicate more clearly.

Our team launched hundreds of digital products across industries. We built things for others for a long time. Tinyspark is the thing we built for ourselves.

Digital Scientists remains independent, privately held, and led by the same team that started it. That longevity matters: it means the platform you're using is backed by a studio that's seen every cycle of hype come and go — and is still here, quietly shipping work that lasts.

That same team also works directly with brands that need hands-on help — from strategy to implementation. If you're looking for a partner, not just a platform, Digital Scientists is where that starts.
